UAPCNL consults with the Netherlands Space Office on the EU Space Act and SST/NEO

EU satellite observation and monitoring of Near Earth Objects (NEO)

On August 7, 2024 UAPCNL has had a fundamental discussion with the Netherlands Space Office (NSO) on the proposed EU Space Act. This bill focuses on the safety, resilience, and sustainability of European space activities. UAPCNL submitted its application at the end of 2023. their feedback in this proposal.

During the meeting with NSO, UAPCNL proposed explicitly including UAP in legislation. This is essential to eliminate the stigma surrounding reporting by astronauts and space crew. UAPCNL also advocates for the integration of UAP data into existing monitoring systems, such as:

  • SST (Space Surveillance and Tracking): aimed at monitoring and preventing collisions with space debris.
  • NEO (Near Earth Objects): observing objects such as asteroids approaching Earth.

Finally, UAPCNL proposed the appointment of a dedicated UAP Research Director within the European Union Agency for the Space Programme.
