Nuclear Safety: UAPCNL submits response to ANVS

UAP Coalition Netherlands has formally responded to the internet consultation on the revised guideline for the Safe Design and Operation of Nuclear Installations (VOBK). This guideline of the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Authority (ANVS) forms the foundation for nuclear safety in the Netherlands.

Our contribution serves as a public signal to raise awareness of unexplained aerial phenomena (UAP) near nuclear facilities. In our response, we emphasize three strategic points:

  • External threats: The need to include UAP in broad risk assessments, comparable to international standards.
  • Scenario analysis: Applying a scenario-based approach when hard data is (still) lacking, in accordance with IAEA guidelines.
  • Reporting and coordination procedures: Clarity on how unexpected observations are reported and shared between chain partners such as the NCTV, Defense, and the ANVS.

With this signal, we want to contribute to a future-proof and robust nuclear safety framework.
