Constructive conversation with the Royal Netherlands Air Force regarding UAP

Consultation between the UAP Coalition Netherlands and the Royal Netherlands Air Force on flight safety.

This week, UAP Coalition Netherlands gave a presentation and held a constructive discussion with spokespersons from the Royal Netherlands Air Force regarding current developments surrounding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

During the meeting, the UAP Coalition Netherlands shared its vision on the importance of a structured and future-proof approach to UAP within the Armed Forces. The presentation was positively received and formed a valuable basis for further dialogue.

Recognition

During the conversation, the spokespersons stated that they recognize the need to seriously address UAP issues, but that it is not yet clear at this moment whether a concrete implementation of follow-up steps is possible.

Importance of a Just Culture

The UAP Coalition Netherlands has emphasized that the subject is not limited to a single branch of the armed forces. Although flight safety is an important aspect, it is crucial to approach the issue more broadly and include all domains within Defence. In doing so, the focus is not only on operational safety but also on the importance of a 'Just Culture': a safe reporting culture in which personnel from every organization feel supported to report observations without stigma.

Looking to the future and next steps

The conversation took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, with room for mutual understanding and exploring possible next steps.

UAP Coalition Netherlands looks forward to a continuation of this dialogue and remains committed to a careful and integrated approach to UAP within Defence.
